Keith Brown - Sweet & Lovely

'Sweet & Lovely' is pianist Keith Brown's impressive debut recording for Space Time Records. Joining the leader are the experienced bass and drums team of Essiet Okon Essiet and Marcus Gilmore together with two stalwarts of the French jazz scene, saxophonist Baptiste Herbin and trumpeter Stephan Belmondo.Keith Brown has always been surrounded by music. As the son of pianist (and former Jazz Messenger) Donald Brown he was introduced to the playing of Oscar Peterson and Herbie Hancock, but also soul musicians such as Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. His subsequent career has seen him involved with bands in the pop, R&B and jazz worlds playing electric bass and keyboards in addition to his first love, the piano. 'Sweet & Lovely' mixes three originals, six standards and compositions from three of America's most individual writers - Duke Ellington, Benny Golson and Stevie Wonder.
