Junior Wells was one of the leading blues harmonica players in the Chicago electric blues era, performing with the Muddy Waters Band in the 1950s and successfully leading his own bands from the 1960s until his death in 1999. This 1997 live performance from the legendary bluesman captures the essence of the Chicago blues which Wells helped to shape. Combining funky beats with urban blues, Wells enthralls his audience with his own ingenuity at shaping lyrics and blues harp solos and with the energy and musicianship of his backing band.
