The legendary statesman of Delta blues, Pinetop Perkins, who died in 2011 at the age of 97 was a youngster of 83 when he recorded this intimate performance of eight selections, Perkins was in rare form with his rolling barrelhouse piano and earthy vocals, performing classics such as How Long, Everyday I Have The Blues, Tell Me What You Want To Do, and Blues After Hours. A multimedia-enhanced CD, 'Born in the Delta' includes video clips of the veteran in an impromptu performance, in-person artist interviews, a biography and photo gallery.
