Barely 30 years old at the time of this 1999 recording and armed with a remarkably rich, seasoned voice and a sizzling guitar sound, Troy Turner has the powerful chops and technique of a bluesman twice his age. Turner succeeds so well because the blues is part of his birthright. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Turner toured and spent time with Kenny Neal and other legendary local musicians such as Buddy Guy, Henry Gray and Raful Neal. Discovered as a youngster he was soon sharing the stage with the likes of B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
