The Tierney Sutton Band - On the Other Side

Reissue of a 2006 recording by the critically acclaimed vocalist Tierney Sutton and her band. The album sees them deconstructing many well known 'happy' songs and turning them into more introspective, melancholic, ironic and adult compositions.

The result is a stunningly arranged CD with unique interpretations that makes a fascinating listen. The thirteen-track set even begins and ends with totally different versions of the same two classic songs, Get Happy and Happy Days Are Here Again. In between you can find You Are My Sunshine, Sometimes I'm Happy Happy Talk, I Want to be Happy and others. They are joined by the veteran jazz musician Jack Sheldon on trumpet and vocals.
