On the aptly titled 'Indian Summer', the iconic jazz pianist Dave Brubeck's first solo piano recording in 3 years, Dave performs a collection of 16 tracks including standards and some of his own contemporary compositions. In many ways, these sixteen songs tell the story of his life beginning with Dave's Indian friends in Northern California where he grew up, through to his career and marriage to wife Iola. The liner notes contain an informative interview between Dave and producer Russell Gloyd about the project and the tracks chosen.
In 2007 Dave Brubeck received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Jazz Awards. The award ceremony showcased a live performance of Dave in a New York studio, synched together with the BBC Big Band in London via satellite.
