Alex Hodgson - Jeelie Jars 'n' Coalie Backies

Alex Hodgson is a singer and songwriter from Prestonpans, East Lothian. He came to the attention of Greentrax in 2009 when he was a finalist in Burnsong, although he had previously been a finalist in Burnsong in 2005. In 2009, along with other finalists, he sang for Members of The Scottish Parliament at Holyrood. Alex is well known in East Lothian for his work in amateur theatre productions where his effervescent personality makes him very popular. This is one of a number of artists from the local community signed by Greentrax and we believe Alex's fine voice, combined with his songwriting talent and the excellent arrangements of producer Kenny Hutchinson (who also plays piano, organ, accordion & more) make this a quite outstanding album. The other session musicians are Calais Brown (guitars), Jim McDermott (drums & percussion), David Paton (bass guitar), Kevin McGuire (double bass),Tony Kime (violin), Jennifer Leitch (backing vocals) and James MacKintosh (ukulele).
