Electric Blues, Kai Strauss' solo debut album represents a no nonsense collection of classic blues tunes and originals played by an international all star line up having a great time at what they're doing best. Strauss is a well known name among European blues lovers and paid his dues recording and touring internationally with Memo Gonzalez & The Bluescasters for more than 15 years. Countless gigs from small clubs to big festivals helped him to shape his authentic and intense guitar playing deeply rooted in the classic styles of the 1950's and '60's. Being not only the guitar player but also the singer and bandleader means I can put together a repertoire that is definitely more personal and gives me the freedom to play my blues. On these 14 songs Strauss shares the vocal duties with such great American masters as Sugar Ray Norcia, Darrell Nulisch, Keith Dunn, Doug Jay & Boyd Small - many of them also adding plenty of of low-down harmonica playing to the tracks.
