A historic collection, of twenty gramophone records (78 rpm) first issued by Gael Linn from 1957 - 1961. All tracks have been remastered and the accompanying book by Nicholas Carolan outlines the historical context of the recordings as well as giving useful biograohical details and the words of the songs, together with English translation.There are 43 performances by oustanding solo singers in Irish and solo musicians from all over Ireland on fiddle, flute, accordion and uilleann pipes.
