Dala's 2005 release ANGELS AND THIEVES showcases the Canadian folk-pop duo's signature harmonies on a collection of classic covers and Dala's originals�the songs of Neil Young, The Cure and Blur are seamlessly paired with Dala's own heartfelt, coming-of-age songwriting. Tracks like the title track and Twenty Something, which was featured on Canada's national CBC radio and Toronto television, highlight the joys and pains of youth while the numerous covers take on new life as anthems of the duo's lush sound, particularly on their version of The Cure's Love Song and Neil Young's A Man Needs a Maid.With five consecutive Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, a Toronto Independent Music Award for Best Folk Group as well as many other accolades, Dala is a favorite in the US Festival circuit with recent appearances including New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Strawberry Music Festival, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and a repeat appearance at The Newport Folk Festival.
