Harry Allen - Rhythm on the River

Peerless saxophonist Harry Allen's 'Rhythm on the River' sees him navigate a course through thirteen charming songs, all which have river as their title. Joining his quartet on four tracks is cornettist, and fellow mainstreamer, Warren Vach�.

This eagerly awaited follow-up to Harry's second Challenge album 'New York State of Mind' proves to have been well worth waiting for. Using the same rhythm section, including the fine pianist Rossano Spotiello, its one more excellent example of just why the saxophonist is heir to the legacy of Stan Getz, Zoot Sims and Al Cohn.
