Eco dell'Anima - Dance Suites and Sonatas of Jean-Fery Rebel

Eco Dell'Anima perform suites and sonatas by French Baroque composer Jean-Fery Rebel on period instruments. This album was recorded in July 2010.

Jean-Fery Rebel (1666-1747) was a noted violinist, conductor, composer and harpsichordist. He was appointed in the prestigious position of Court Chamber Composer to Louis XV in 1726 before which he was the student of Jean-Baptiste Lully. Rebel was one of the first musician at the French court to compose in the Italian style and as such his sonatas are notable for their striking originality.
