Giordani was an Italian Baroque composer who made his career in the opera house of Dublin and London. He published a substantial number of works, including 26 operas and adaptations of at least a dozen more. Giordani's duos for two cellos are something of an outlier in his output, which largely focused on vocal and keyboard music.
