Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, soul/ R&B performer Jonathan Butler signed to Jive Records in 1977 and later relocated to the UK, enjoying a high profile and several hit singles and albums across the 1980s. The singer continues to enjoy a high profile back in his native South Africa, where his music now reflects his life as a born-again Christian.
