Deluxe edition of Animal Nightlife’s Top 40 debut album, ‘Shangri-La’.

Featuring a bonus disc with ten additional tracks, culled from various singles and the album’s cassette edition.

Including two versions of their Top 40 hit ‘Mr Solitaire’ (featuring The Style Council’s Paul Weller on backing vocals), alongside other singles ‘Love Is Just The Great Pretender ’85’ and ‘Preacher, Preacher’ and a revamp of earlier single ‘Native Boy’.

Animal Nightlife were a soul/jazz/pop collective who emerged within London’s ultra-hip club scene of the early 1980s.

After signing to Innervision (also home to Wham!), Animal Nightlife eventually moved to Island Records in 1984, enjoying significant success and acclaim during their time with the label. With contributions from singer Andy Polaris, drummer Paul Waller and others, and sleevenotes by MOJO’s Lois Wilson.
