It's a family affair for SHEL. The Holbrook Sisters - Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza (S.H.E.L) - are all skilled singers, songwriters and multi-instrumentalists in their early-mid 20's.Musicianship is at their core, they create a compelling musical alchemy with an intriguing mix of acoustic instruments, beatboxing, synth and captivating harmonies. In their own words they are 'four sisters travelling the world, tellin' tales and sharing a dream'.Their second studio album, 'Just Crazy Enough', is a playful fusion of indie, folk and pop. The record not only boasts their incredible musicality but stacks of creativity and fearless imagination. The four sisters blend their styles together seamlessly as one cohesive unit - without preventing their individual personalities from shining through - with Sarah on violin and guitar, Hannah on keys and synth bass, Eva on mandolin, banjo and guitar and Liza on drums, djembe and beatboxing. The girls are an enchanting foursome - high-spirited, whimsical and a little mischievous. They are also not afraid of hard work and have had an impressive journey since they started performing together as SHEL in childhood. Their eponymous debut album, released in the US in 2012, introduced their music to a global audience and earned them a worldwide deal with DSE/Membran. They have honed their craft by touring the US extensively, while their songs have featured in films, TV shows and adverts. They have a refreshing DIY attitude, dedicating time to make all their own music videos - including locations ranging from New York to San Francisco and Amsterdam to Ireland - as well as original costume design and taking their own official photos.Raised in Colorado on a trailer park that the Holbrook family converted into a farm, the girls had an unconventional upbringing, home-schooled by an artist mother and professional songwriter father. A common dream grew between the sisters and they became a band made up of four very different personalities. They are now based in Nashville, soaking up the creative atmosphere of 'music city' in-between their tours and travels around the world. One of those albums that you explore knowing that the odds are that it'll just go on getting better. And it does. You'll probably hear their alluring and original songs at Glastonbury soon.
