Jaga Klimaszewska & Mateusz Rettner - Bacewicz: Chamber Music

The chamber works of Polish composer Bacewicz on this album were chosen by violinist Jaga Klimaszewska and by pianist Mateusz Rettner. The album's content is complemented by two little gems � never recorded or even released miniatures � The Song and The Legend.

Grazyna Bacewicz was one of the last musicians to combine an extensive composing activity with numerous performances as a multi-instrumentalist. The influence of performance experience is clearly visible in her output - Bacewicz wrote most of the violin pieces for her own needs. There is a lot going on in the music, it is ravenous and at the same time lyrical.
