The transcripts of Sergey Rachmaninov enjoyed great respect among pianists of that time already during the composer's lifetime. In addition to piano concertos, preludes, etudes and Variations on a Theme of Correlli, Rachmaninov's arrangements were gradually becoming the composer's showcase.
