The Jade Quartet follow their successful recording of works by the Taiwanese composer Jing Peng with another set of unknown works: string quartets by the Viennese composer Peter Barcaba.
Peter Barcaba planned to join the recording sessions but sadly passed away a couple of days before they began in September 2017. Fortunately, he had been able to give the four Chinese, Korean and Polish musicians an insight into how his music should be understood and played. The music is as artful in the way of composing as challenging for the players, but it is relatable and emotional.
