Australian-based jazz guitarist Albare (aka Albert Dadon) is a musician whose compositions and playing lean towards strong melodic and lyrical lines and a wealth of global influences. Born in Morocco and raised in Israel and France, he sights his major influences as Wes Montgomery and George Benson.
'The Road Ahead', recorded with his internationally diverse quartet, showcases Albare's cultural roots and his use of scales from the Jewish Sephardic Moroccan tradition fused with those of jazz and blues. All of the compositions are by Albare, except for Stevie Wonder's Overjoyed, featuring guest vocalist from New York, Allan Harris - widely known for his work with the likes of Wynton Marsalis.
