John Turville Trio - Midas

First release from young UK trio, recent winners of Promoters Choice award 2009. The John Turville Trio are one of the most creative new ensembles to emerge from the recent jazz resurgence in London.Their music has a 'rhythmic vitality, deep lyricism and collective empathy' and shows influences from a wide variety of sources including tango, South Indian and contemporary classical music. In 2009 they won the coveted 'promoters choice' award and will tour their new album in January and February 2010. John has played with many of the top UK jazz artists in Britain, Europe and South America including Tim Garland and Gilad Atzmon, while top UK bassist Chris Hill is a current member of Jamie Cullum's band.
