The duo traverses the history of jazz, from blues to free, in its attempt to rejuvenate the standard through contemporary sensibility but with deep respect for the tradition.The album includes reworking of Duke Ellington�s Sophisticated Lady, the little-played, beautiful Eclipse by Charles Mingus and a barely-recognisable version of the Dixieland favourite, Sweet Georgia Brown. Electronic music, effects, live loops and samples are used to breathe new life to these, other favourite and not so well-known jazz standards.
