Debut album from London-based folk-jazz sextet. Song-based structurally complex compositions and improvisations featuring some of London�s most sought after musicians. Metamorphic are a sextet who play song-based contemporary jazz/folk, a mixture of originals and arrangements. They are; Chris Williams, alto sax (Mercury Prize nominees Led Bib); John Martin, tenor/soprano sax (The John Martin Quartet); Kerry Andrew, vocals (Juice Vocal Trio); Tom Greenhalgh, drums (World Sanguine Report); Paul Sandy, bass (Hey Negrita); and Laura Cole, piano/rhodes/composer/arranger (The Common Place Orchestra). Shabaka Hutchings guests on the title track of then album on bass clarinet (BBC New Generation Artist). The music comprises of tightly composed originals offset by improvised passages and juxtaposing sections of well-known pieces. The music is about a journey through RSI, depression, recovery and motherhood, and an attempt to depict this in words and music.
