Olivia's Owls continue honing their own unique brand of instrumental music which draws as much from Faure and Scriabin as it does from jazz.Founded in 2011 and led by composer and bassist Hedi Pinkerfeld, Olivia's Owls have been steadily honing their own unique brand of instrumental music. Described on BBC Radio 3 by Jez Nelson (Jazz on 3) as standing out of the pack, their live work has included performances on the London scene as well as international dates. The group's delicate, melodic material draws as much from Faure and Scriabin as the jazz tradition, striking a compelling balance between intricate compositions and improvisational freedom. The music features the outstanding talents of Alex Coppard (Brass Notes, Bombay Bicycle Club) Charlie Laffer (Daley, Maverick Sabre) and Josh Stadlen (Femme, Rudimental).
