Geoff Achison - Sovereign Town

'Sovereign Town' is a vibrant set of mostly original compositions from Australian singer-songwriter and gifted guitarist Geoff Achison. Produced by Achison and Ric Formosa, the album presents an acoustically oriented, intimate, organic and decidedly song-driven collection of 12 tracks inspired by the early days of Victoria's gold rush. Recorded for Achison's Jupiter 2 Records at Formosa's Pilgrimage Studio in Ballarat, Victoria, it represents his 15th release as a solo artist. For this project Achison used a selection of tunes and stories written for a small combo that includes Andrew Fry (Upright Bass), Dave Clark (Drums) and Liam Kealy (Organ). Down Beat magazine described his music as catchy, intelligent songwriting�he spills out blues guitar phrases that shed further light on various emotional states.
