Mari Midtli - Dalen

A long-awaited solo album from a young star of Norwegian vocal folk music, Mari Midtli.At the age of 22, Mari Midtli is already considered one of the foremost singers of vocal folk music in Norway. Her presence in the performance is chilling and is likely to have won her a series of awards from a young age. This is her first solo album released on Heilo. Dalen consists of Mari Midtli's favourite songs from the hidden song treasures in the valley of Gudbrandsdalen.Many of the tunes are sung in the traditional way- a capella. Andreas Bjorkas (fiddle) and Vegard Moshagen (Harmonium) contribute with fresh accompaniment for some of the tunes.
