Buddy Miller - Midnight & Lonesome

Buddy Miller has spent the better part of the last decade crafting an increasingly fine body of work in the studio located in the living room of his Nashville home. That body of work is notably augmented with Midnight & Lonesome.The country guitar wizard, who is Emmylou Harris' right-hand man in the studio and on the road, and who tours and records with wife, Julie, is joined on Midnight & Lonesome by both of them as well as Lee Ann Womack. The rock solid band is Buddy's usual collection of pickers including Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan), Al Perkins (Rolling Stones, Gram Parsons) and Tammy Rogers. In addition to a batch of original rocking and soulful country songs, Buddy throws in a handful of unusual covers, interestingly arranged. He revives a wonderful Everly Brothers obscurity, The Price Of Love. He gives a Southern Soul treatment to Jesse Winchester's A Showman's Life and he pays tribute to Percy Mayfield with an acoustic version of Please Send Me Someone To Love
