Chris Smither - Train Home

Born in New Orleans, now calling New England his home, Chris Smither is a true, if difficult to categorise, troubadour. On the road with his distinctive blue Alvarez-Yairi guitar for over 200 dates a year he has built a legion of fans through 11 albums and over 30 years of finger-pickin' performances. Train Home presents seven new Smither originals ranging from the delicate melodies of Outside In and Confirmation to the bluesy stomp of Call Time. The four cover songs are wonderfully eclectic: highly original remakes of Dylan's Desolation Row and Richie Furay's Kind Woman along with two longtime crowd-pleasers from his live shows, Mississippi John Hurt's Candy Man and Dave Carter's Crocodile Man.
