Dill Jones - Up Jumped You With Love

This is the first time on CD for this 1972 recording of the stride pianist Dill Jones that was originally released on Doug Dobell's 77 Records label.

Dill Jones was born in Wales but from 1961 spent most of his professional life in the States. There he was recognised as a stride pianist of the highest class and this reputation enabled him to play with every important mainstream jazz musician of his day. During the '70s he was a member of the all-star small group named J.P.J. along with Budd Johnson, Oliver Jackson and Bill Pemberton.

In 1972 Jones returned to the UK for this solo piano recording. It captures a world class musician who was sadly to die prematurely at the age of 60 in 1984.
