Cindy Blackman studied as a youngster under the legendary Art Blakey and in her career she's drummed for Jackie McClean, Pharaoh Sanders, Cassandra Wilson, Bill Laswell, Joe Henderson and, most famously, she was Lenny Kravitz's drummer for a number of years.
