Monnette Sudler - Where Have All the Legends Gone?

2009 album from Philly guitarist/vocalist Monnette Sudler, which showcases her eclectic tastes and includes a fantastic rendition of the Stanley Cowell soul classic Don't Stress Me Out. The album features top Paris-based musicians John Betsch, Peter Giron and David Neerman. Monnette was probably the first female guitarist to record a jazz album as a bandleader back in the '70s. She has explored all the different shades of black music, from free jazz to bop and funk.
