Hammond Eggs - Back In The Pan

Jermaine Landsberger, Paulo Morello and Christoph Huber's mission is to revitalise the distinctive group sound of B3 organ, guitar and drums. They're joined on their second recording for In & Out, 'Hammond Eggs', by two American greats - trumpeter Randy Brecker of Brecker Brothers fame and saxophonist Bob Mintzer, longtime member of the Yellowjackets.Whilst still incorporating the blues, boogaloo and the dusty groove approach of their first CD, this outing departs from the format by the judicious use of jazz-rock and funk elements. Brecker and Mintzer's presence is entirely appropriate, then, and their passionate playing energises the tracks they feature on. Also on board are top European saxophonists Tony Lakatos and Kim Barth plus percussionist Dudu Penz.The core of the group remains the three leaders, however, with Landsberger's resourceful keyboard playing being a primary component.
