'I Didn't Know What Time It Was' is a unique live album recorded at a sold out Bimhuis concert in 2010 with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and living legend Dr. Lonnie Smith.

Dr Lonnie Smith has played on more than 70 records in his career. Most noticeable from Smith in the Bimhuis set was his auditory memory and the lucid, varied sounds he managed to wrest from his Hammond B3 organ.

The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, since its foundation in 1996, has been recognised as one of the most notable Big Bands in the Netherlands. The JOC performs worldwide with jazz greats such as the likes of Benny Golson and Oleta Adams and talented young blood, with Jos James and Christian Scott among the pool. Through its shows abroad, the JOC manages to bring Dutch jazz far afield and to the stages of famous concert halls. Approximately 35,000 visitors are drawn to the JOC's concerts each year.
