Compiled and transferred by Grammy Award winning Chris King this is a compilation of ultra rare early Country/Old Time Music/Bluegrass.This set covers the field recordings made by the Bluebird label in the late 1930's and early 1940's. They went to the highways and byways of rural America to look for talent for their Old Time Music series and the wonderful music included here is the result. These sides have rarely if ever been reissued and are important examples of the music as it changes from a folk music into something that would become the roots of Nashville.
