Thomas 'Spats' Lingham has specialised in the music of the 1920s and early 1930s since he was a teenager. Over the years he has carved out a reputation for being one of the UK's leading guitarists and banjo players on the club and festival circuit here, in Europe and Australia. He has played with most of the leading exponents of this type music: The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, The Charleston Chasers, Bob Kerr's Whoopee Band, etc. The current interest in this type of music prompted him to form his own group, an instrumental trio plus singer, called Hot Fingers. They made a CD for LAKE Records (LACD311) and it has become one of the label's best sellers. They return with a new CD. Same formula: popular tunes of the era, gypsy jazz, swing, hokum - a cornucopia of moods and sounds. Their previous album was described by R2 magazine as a likeable, good-humoured, entertaining album by wonderful musicians. More of the same on this album!
