Jazz has always featured in films since films were first using sound. During the Trad Boom a number of films used the popular musical genre in a variety of films from the rather trite to the serious. Flimsy storylines used simply to exploit the musical fad formed the basis for films like IT'S TRAD DAD, THE TOMMY STEELE STORY and BAND OF THIEVES. Other films were based on the theatre trend for 'kitchen sink drama' and used the music as a serious aside: THE LONELINESS OF THE LONG DISTANCE RUNNER, LOOK BACK IN ANGER, THE WILD AND THE WILLING. These and more are represented here and all the major bands of the day are represented: Ball, Barber, Bilk, Lyttelton...etc.
