Frode Kjekstad - In Essence

Internationally recognised and critically acclaimed Norwegian jazz guitarist Frode Kjekstad's second release on Losen Records. This time in a trio setting with another amazing string player - Frode Berg, on bass and the young Magnus Sefaniassen Eide on drums, playing all original material composed by their leader Frode Kjekstad.

Kjekstad's resume includes recordings with jazz greats Dr. Lonnie Smith and Eric Alexander. Joe Fields, the late producer and label boss of Muse Records, named Frode Kjekstad as the new Pat Martino. High praise indeed from a man who knew his way around the jazz greats!
