Topkapi Instrumental Ensemble - Picture Yourself Belly Dancing

Belly dancing has been defined as �solo, improvised dances based on torso articulation�. Thought to have originated in the Middle East, belly dance has become an international dance form often incorporating local costume and dance traditions. This collection of 16 instrumental melodies features belly dance in its three basic rhythms: 2/4 time, 4/4 time and 9/8 time. The music is performed by an ensemble composed of stringed instruments, percussion and clarinet.
