Jean-Paul Brodbeck Group - Hang on Hippie

The Swiss keyboard player Jean-Paul Brodbeck plays the Fender Rhodes as well as his regular acoustic piano to create tight groove oriented music with lots of room for improvisation. His band includes the excellent Austrian guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel.

Wolfgang Zwiauer on electric bass and Christian Niederer on drums are both long-term musical partners of Brodbeck. Two masters of their instruments, Johannes Enders on saxophone and Wolfgang Muthspiel on guitar, complement the band. With their own distinct personalities, joy of discovery and great experience, these four musicians create an inspiring setting for Brodbeck to develop his new music.

Jean-Paul Brodbeck was one of the founding members of the experimental Hip Hop bands Chapter 12 and P27 and played in the Klezmer band Baith Jaffe. Amongst others, he has played with Lionel Hampton, Herbie Mann, David Liebman, Nils Wogram, the Wolfgang Muthspiel 4tet and many more.
