Paolo Thorsen-Nagel Projekt - And On

German/American guitarist Paolo Thorsen-Nagel perfected his skills with teachers such as Mick Goodrick, Wolfgang Muthspiel and Fred Frith. 'And On' is his debut recording for Material Records and leaves no doubt that he's learnt his craft well and has waited for the right moment to release this highly inventive album.

Thorsen-Nagel has put together a cast of first-rate players for the CD including ECHO jazz award winner Johannes Enders on tenor and soprano saxophones and renowned Swiss player Matthieu Michel on flugelhorn. Eleven original compositions make up 'And On' but these are never vehicles for individual virtuosos to show off their chops. Instead these are perfect examples of an integrated band sound where the collective is more valuable than the soloist.
