Di Fidl-Kapelye - Trumpets for Di Fidl-Kapelye

126 strings used to be the standard setting for a klezmer band: one cimbalom, two fiddles, one cello and one double bass. These days this setting is rarely found, especially with an all-female group. Di Fidl-Kapelye are the exception. The five string wizards have various musical backgrounds - classical music, pop and theatre to name a few - and they have worked with people like Alan Bern, Michael Alpert and Frank London from the Klezmatics. Initially the group performed mainly traditional klezmer music but their many contacts have inspired them to now broaden their horizons.
