Luthomania - Itinerances

HYBRID SUPER AUDIO CD, COMPATIBLE WITH ALL CD PLAYERS. Luthomania is a trio of lute players: Xia Hua, originally from Beijing, who plays the p'i-p'a (Chinese lute), Abid El Bahri, originally from Morocco, who plays an 'ud, and Philippe Malfeyt, a Belgian who plays a Western lute. Together they blend Chinese, Arabic and European elements into a harmonious mixed marriage. This new album is less ethnic than their debut release, PERIPLES. This is a more accessible blend of world music, baroque, improvised music and jazz with additional musicians on cello, harmonica, saxophone, accordion, bandoneon and percussion.
