This recording celebrates an exciting collaboration between mainstays of the Dutch and British folk and world music scenes, who have joined together to create a unique sound. And what a result!Five terrific musicians � all composers. Right from the opening track we are treated to a diversity of sound that reflects their unusual combination of instruments: fiddle, guitar, clarinets, saxes, percussion and voices. Every track is different but nevertheless the CD has a distinctive style.Meet is predominantly an instrumental CD. The arrangements are at times sophisticated and delightfully simple at others, ranging from rollicking sets like the opening track �Musicport� to the quirky �Thyroid Jig�, and beautiful songs like the aptly named last track �Closing of the Day�.
