The latest title on our dedicated 90s imprint 90/9 is a triple-disc Deluxe Edition of the 1996 debut set from trailblazing technopop punk rockers Republica, fronted by the inimitable Saffron.
- A gold-certified Top Five smash, Republica features the knockout one-two punch of ‘Ready to Go’ (UK #13, US #56) and ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ (UK #7, US #93) alongside the equally assertive dance floor favourites ‘Bloke’, ‘Bitch’ and Holly’.
- Across three CDs, this Deluxe Edition contains no less than 32 bonus tracks, including Republica’s sought-after debut single, ‘Out of This World’, which was reworked as the album track ‘Out of the Darkness’.
- Also featured are absolutely all the full-length mixes issued commercially or promotionally for the singles. Defying categorisation with their punk rock sensibility, sheer pop appeal and impeccable dance floor credentials, Republica nevertheless became darlings of the Britpop era and frontwoman Saffron a striking, scarlet-haired fashion icon. Signed in 1993 to the iconic deconstruction label, they quickly established a devoted club audience in the UK but broke through three years later with the Stateside success of the indelible crossover anthem ‘Ready to Go’ and the blistering follow-up ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’.
As they put the finishing touches to their long-awaited new studio album, Republica have a string of live dates lined up for 2020, kicking off at the Dome in London on February 8th - coinciding with the release of this Deluxe Edition. They’re back - and ready to go!
