Small Defence/Riley Lee - Bamboo Soup

Small Defense are a Sydney-based production duo, Kristian Hill and Robert Staines. Riley Lee is Australia's only Grand Master of the Shakuhachi, a simple form of bamboo flute. BAMBOO SOUP's moody, atmospheric feel moves gracefully between the sparse, meditative melodies of the Shakuhachi and the dense sounds of drum 'n' bass. Intermittent accompaniment is provided by Elmo Reid (double bass), Bruce Clark (bongos, congas) and Kelly Staines (Taiko drum, additional percussion).
