If Paul Hart is not a genius, he is the nearest thing to it that I have come across says John Dankworth. In my opinion he is the finest big band writer this country has ever produced - Bill Ashton. The evidence is contained on this CD of two suites Out of Hamlelin and Themes and Deviations composed and arranged for NYJO by Paul Hart, and recorded almost 20 years apart. The earlist session was in 1983 and the last in 2001.
