Herb Ellis & Joe Pass - Two for the Road

Paired guitarists run the risk of getting tangled up in each other's chords and melodic ideas. In their famous 1974 album �Two for the Road�, Herb Ellis and Joe Pass took that risk, and it turned out to be worth taking. Not only did these two virtuosos avoid collisions; they discovered an empathy, almost a sixth sense, that made it clear when one should solo and the other should accompany. Such awareness comes with the humility that grows out of mastery that recognises mastery.
