For his 27th solo album, Karl Seglem traveled to the idycallylocated Herrenhaus-Hotel in the small town of Salderatzen torecreate the mythical moods of his concerts, recording fourkey-pieces in the building's entirely wood-panelled ballroomand in front of a small audience.Compared to predecessor �NORSKjazz.no�, �Ossicles�, which ispropelled by the pulse of former Madrugada-Drummer ErlandDahlen among others, can clearly be characterised as a returnto his unique blend of Jazz and Folk.African influences, Reggae rhythms and Pakistani metrics arejust a few of the surprising stylistic elements contained withinthe remarkably eclectic arrangements, but they are alwaysused with great care and an ear for the message hiding behindthe sounds.
