Ornette Coleman - The Essential Recordings

Nobody's music has proved as divisive and polarised opinions as much as the music of Ornette Coleman. He revolutionized the very language of Jazz, but his ideas made him a controversial figure. In 1959 he recorded the recognized classic The Shape Of Jazz To Come, and in 1961 he pioneered the Free Jazz movement with his album of the same name. This set includes the whole of that record along with many other pieces that altered the Jazz landscape.
