Glain Rhys - Atgof Prin

Originally from Bala, North Wales but now living in Cardiff, up and coming young singer-songwriter Glain is about to graduate from a two-year performing course at University of Wales Trinity Dewi Sant within Cardiff Uiniversity As well as her studies during the day, this last year Glain has been busy working on material for this her debut album. Glain has been singing for as long as she can remember, as a young child she was singing with various groups and choirs and competing at Eisteddfodau. Since bringing the band together for the battle of bands competition at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 2016 Glain has been experimenting with musical genres, composing and recording material for her new album � she explains; �I compose my own material and it varies in genre but I suppose it tends to veer towards folk � I�m inspired to write from personal experiences and from events that happen around me day to day.� Amongst her long list of influences she names Welsh singer- songwriter Caryl Parry Jones, folk artist Si�n James and leading harpist and folk singer Gwenan Gibbard, all three of whom are well known in Wales and have recorded CDs on the SAIN label.
